Colin Chatman is a life-long resident in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area. Entering fall of 2026, he is starting his 14th season of officiating volleyball and his 16th season of officiating basketball. While his initial goals were to either officiate NCAA Division I basketball or the NBA, those goals changed when volleyball really starting to take off. That is even after starting his college basketball officiating career back in 2014. That only lasted two seasons. Opportunities in volleyball includes working several Oklahoma (OSSAA) high school state volleyball tournaments, starting my college volleyball career and working USA Volleyball. With the Oklahoma (OSSAA) high school state volleyball tournaments, he has worked six total. In October 2026, he worked his first state tournament as a head official in which included being the R2 in the Class 5A final with Bishop McGuinness and Shawnee. In the previous five state tournaments, he was a line judge. With college volleyball, he works up to NCAA DII as a head official. With USA Volleyball, he has worked many tournaments around the country that includes USAV nationals in Chicago back in 2023 and AAU nationals in Orlando back in 2018.

In the latter years, he noticed the decline in the morality and direction with the athletes he has officiated with his games and matches. Those really have gotten personal with three family tragedies in the 2010's.

So Colin has decided to do something about it. While continuing to officiate and after obtaining certifications through CPD Certification Service and American Association of Drugless Practitioners from two retired NBA players, he is now turning his focuses on assisting EVERY ATHLETE that he comes in contact with and service to 'turn their mess(es) into message(s). Hence, More Than A Referee, LLC was created and formed back in 2021. He has already been blessed to work with athletes across the country that includes Mexico, Canada and the Bahamas.
